What is a part time design job?

Part time design jobs are positions in the design field—such as graphic design, web design, or interior design—that require fewer hours than a standard full-time job, often ranging from 10 to 30 hours per week. These roles allow for a flexible schedule, making them ideal for students, freelancers, or individuals seeking work-life balance. Part time designers may work on specific projects, collaborate with a team, or assist full-time designers with ongoing tasks. These jobs can be found in various industries, including advertising, marketing, technology, and retail.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a part time designer?

To thrive as a Part Time Designer, you need a solid grasp of design principles, proficiency in visual communication, and typically a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or Sketch is often expected, and a strong portfolio can be a critical credential. Creativity, time management, and adaptability are standout soft skills for managing diverse projects and client expectations on a flexible schedule. These abilities ensure you can deliver high-quality, impactful designs efficiently while meeting varied client or employer needs.

How do part-time design roles typically integrate with full-time design teams and ongoing projects?

Part-time designers often collaborate closely with full-time team members by attending key meetings, using shared project management tools, and participating in regular feedback sessions. Clear communication and well-defined deliverables help ensure that part-time contributors stay aligned with project goals and timelines. While schedules may be more flexible, part-time designers are still expected to meet deadlines and maintain the quality standards set by the team. They may also have the opportunity to take on specialized tasks or support multiple projects based on the team's needs.

Job description

Description:

Help brides say yes to the dress – join the Bon Bon Belle team!

Bon Bon Belle is a modern bridal boutique dedicated to helping every bride feel confident, beautiful, and uniquely herself. With a curated collection of stunning gowns and personalized service, we make finding “the one” an unforgettable experience.

What do bridal stylists do?

  • Greet customers in a timely manner, answer phones, reply to customer questions, and ensure all customers and guests are taken care of.
  • Host brides and their guests for dress appointments, acting as a subject matter expert while guiding brides to say yes to their perfect dress.
  • Be excited about creating and starring in Bon Bon Belle's social media and TikTok content. Our TikTok has over 860,000 followers and over 65 million likes, so you might be a little famous!
  • Provide the best service possible, wowing every bride and guest that enters our store.
  • Positively contribute to our store's beautiful appearance at all times through the way you dress, act, and serve others during your shifts.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness of the store: keeping floors swept, bathrooms clean and stocked, dresses organized and straightened, glassware shining and maintained, and the store generally in excellent condition each shift.
  • Train continuously on new products, terminology, and trends through attendance at Monthly Staff meetings.

Why should you choose Bon Bon Belle?

  • Gorgeous Vibes Only: You’ll be working in a seriously stunning space—dreamy dresses, chic decor, and all the bubbly bridal energy you can handle.
  • Your Work Besties Await: Our team? Total gems. Supportive, fun, and just the right amount of yapping.
  • No Late Nights: We don’t do weekend evenings, so your social life? Still intact!
  • Treat Yourself: Snag 20% off everything in-store. Yes, even that necklace you’ve been wanting!
  • Weddings = Never Boring: This industry is pure magic. Gorgeous gowns, happy tears, major "say yes!" moments.
  • On the Up & Up: We’re growing fast—which means your career can, too. Let’s glow up together!

Hours (Part-Time):

Bridal stylists can expect to work ~27 hours per week, with a mix of weekday and weekend hours across the following days:

  • Wednesday (10:30–7:30) / Friday (8:30–5:30) / Saturday (8:30–5:30)
  • Friday (8:30–5:30) / Saturday (8:30–5:30) / Sunday (8:30–5:30)

Pay & Commission:

As a Bridal Stylist, your tips and commission bonus are an important part of how your success is rewarded.

Our Bridal Stylists earn $12/hour plus tips, and we offer a generous bonus structure to reward your impact. With base rate + commission + tips, our stylists at our Port Washington location are usually making between $18 and $22 per hour, and we have real data to back that up!

Requirements:

Who we are:

  1. Our Mission: Make Other People Shine
  2. Our Core Values:
  • CARE: We care first for each other, then customers
  • SERVICE: We wow our customers with service and hospitality
  • PROCESS: We follow repeatable systems to ensure consistently excellent experiences for our customers and co-workers
  • IMPROVEMENT: We constantly improve and raise the bar on our service experience, our facility, our brand, ourselves

Who do you have to be?

  • Experienced in bridal, retail sales, or tips- and commission-based roles
  • Someone who lives to make others feel confident, beautiful, and supported
  • Someone who is available to work at Bon Bon Belle year-round
  • Someone who lives within 30 minutes of Port Washington, WI
  • Interested in bridal styling, fashion, or design or follows those trends on social media
  • Likes working as part of a team and supports their teammates wholeheartedly
  • Someone who doesn’t mind being on their feet, moving around at work, and lifting heavy objects frequently (up to 50 lbs)
