Job description

GENERAL DUTIES:

WTC is looking for a creative Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development, to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and fabricate machinery and components of innovation and excellence. 

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
  • Design systems and components that meet company and customer needs and requirements
  • Produce outline designs
  • Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data, and interpret results
  • Test and evaluate designs
  • Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Evaluate overall performance, reliability, and safety of final products
  • Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
  • Estimate budget and scope of projects
  • Clearly document observations from operators
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop credible theories or methods to apply to new and existing machinery

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BSc degree in Engineering
  • Quantifiable engineering work experience
  • Proven experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools with adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools
  • Strong working knowledge of mathematical computing and analysis tools
  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, hydraulics, and electrical design
  • Creativity and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Technical writing skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
