Job Summary:

The Engineer III – Design Engineer and Project Manager (Structures Focus) applies a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting his or her organization. This position applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve to deliver all design documents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produces technical design calculations and design drawings
  • Serve as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area
  • Keep informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with electronic communication including email and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Able to deliver calculations and design documentation deliverables from inception to completion of complex bridge replacement projects.
  • Plans work and tasks that result in timely high-quality products that satisfy client needs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • 0-5 years prior experience needed

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

  • Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member
