Job description

Job Description: We are seeking an energetic and motivated Design Engineer to join our dynamic team! This role combines engineering, sales, customer service, and programming. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about center pivot irrigation, drip irrigation and/or general agricultural irrigation from the well to the sprinklers/ emitters and everything in between. We operate with the seasons so Spring and Summer can be a fast-paced environment, where balancing design work with supporting and selling products is key.

Key Responsibilities: Design Engineering

  • Designing Center Pivot Irrigation Sprinkler Packages from Customer specifications while matching product specifications
  • Actively communicating with customers on designs in order to sell appropriate irrigation products, including sprinklers, drop packages, pivots, wire, and related components to agricultural customers.
  • Learn and stay current on new products, technologies, and industry trends to provide expert recommendations.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, engage directly with customers (in-person, phone, and email), take orders, and prepare/enter sales orders accurately.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular outreach, site visits, calling on customers, and participating in trade shows.
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on sprinkler and drop packages to help customers select optimal solutions.
  • Update Center Pivot Program to incorporate new features, new products and improve ease of use

Personnel & Leadership

  • Foster a positive team environment and provide training on products, processes, software, and safety.
  • Check orders for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Additional Duties

  • Assess and introduce new products to expand offerings and meet market needs.
  • Support overall business growth through excellent service, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in agricultural irrigation, wholesale distribution, or related agribusiness (knowledge of sprinklers, drop packages, pivots, and irrigation systems strongly preferred).
  • Strong customer service and sales skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers.
  • Proficiency with basic office software, order entry systems, and inventory tools (willingness to learn company-specific software).
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for customer calls and trade shows.
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices
