Michael Kinder & Sons, a fourth-generation family-owned Design-Build Construction Firm, is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager with 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry. This role supports project management from concept to completion, ensuring exceptional customer service and accurate job management. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Management and Field Supervision teams to establish priorities, maintain quality standards, and effectively manage customer expectations. Strong organizational, writing, and computer skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Management

  • Keep site logs updated, track deliveries, and monitor resource usage.
  • Help coordinate subcontractor tasks, prepare for meetings, and share daily goals.
  • Watch site operations and report any issues or changes to the PM team.

Quality Control

  • Help prepare and organize quality control documents like inspection logs and test reports.
  • Assist with scheduling inspections and tracking resolution of quality issues.
  • Watch site activities and report any problems that dont meet quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Help prepare safety documents and keep logs updated with manuals and signage.
  • Assist with organizing safety meetings and tracking attendance and action items.
  • Watch for safety issues on site and report them to the PM team promptly.

Contract Management

  • Help prepare and organize contract documents, and track approvals.
  • Share contract updates with the PM team and follow up on pending items.
  • Assist with subcontractor onboarding and help explain contract terms.

Schedule Management

  • Help update project schedules and track progress toward key milestones.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to confirm delivery dates and timelines.
  • Report any schedule issues to the PM team and assist with recovery plans.

Cost Control

  • Help track project costs and check invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist with preparing purchase orders and processing change orders.
  • Spot financial issues and report them to the PM team.

Client & Internal Teamwork

  • Help prepare client communications, meeting agendas, and follow-up notes.
  • Work with team members to gather updates and keep track of action items.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude in all interactions.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education | Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree

  • Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills required
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
