What is deregulated energy?

Deregulated energy refers to a market structure where consumers can choose their energy supplier instead of being limited to a single utility company. In deregulated energy markets, multiple companies compete to provide electricity or natural gas, potentially leading to more competitive prices and service options. This system aims to foster competition, encourage innovation, and offer consumers more choices regarding their energy providers. However, deregulation policies and availability vary by region, and not all areas have access to a deregulated energy market.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a deregulated energy sales representative?

To thrive as a Deregulated Energy Sales Representative, you need strong sales acumen, knowledge of the energy market, and often a background in business or related fields. Familiarity with CRM software, energy pricing platforms, and relevant state or federal regulatory standards is typically expected. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills help you connect with clients and close deals in a competitive market. These competencies are crucial for navigating complex regulations, building trust with customers, and achieving sales targets in the dynamic energy industry.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in deregulated energy markets, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in deregulated energy roles often encounter challenges such as rapidly changing regulations, fluctuating market prices, and increased competition. Adapting quickly to new policies and leveraging data analytics to forecast market trends are essential for success. Building strong relationships with suppliers, utilities, and customers also helps navigate uncertainties and identify new opportunities. Continuous professional development and staying informed about industry changes are key ways to address these challenges and excel in the field.

Job description

Affiliate Manager — Managed Services (Insurance & Home Services)

Location: Miami or NYC (in-office preferred), open to remote

Compensation: 90-120 K (Final salary will be determined by the candidate's work location, along with relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.)

Company Profile:

We are a leading provider of performance marketing solutions, delivering high-quality data leads and live transfer calls across industries such as Legal, Insurance, and Home Services. We are committed to ethical sourcing, fraud prevention, and TCPA compliance, ensuring transparency and reliability in everything we do. By leveraging advanced technology and strict quality standards, we deliver tailored solutions that help our clients improve marketing performance and drive meaningful results. At Inbounds.com, we prioritize quality over volume and focus on delivering real outcomes for our partners.

About the Role:

You're the connector — when a buyer needs volume, you're the reason they get it. This is a network/exchange role — you're not managing one static set of partners, you're connecting two sides of a marketplace. You'll connect supply (lead and call sources) with demand (buyers) across insurance — auto, final expense, Medicare, and health — plus home services and deregulated energy. When a buyer needs more volume in a vertical, you find and onboard the suppliers to fill the gap.

What you'll do:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers, getting as many onboarded as needed to fill demand gaps
  • Connect suppliers and buyers across auto insurance, final expense insurance, Medicare, health insurance, home services, and deregulated energy
  • Own performance across multiple verticals concurrently

What we need:

  • Direct industry experience required
  • Experience in at least one of: insurance (auto/final expense/Medicare/health), home services, or deregulated energy
  • Comfortable in Everflow or similar affiliate tracking platforms
  • Strong understanding of TCPA and lead-generation compliance

Why Join Us

  • Direct impact on revenue and company growth
  • Work with a fast-paced, performance-driven team
  • Opportunity to build and scale partnerships quickly
