Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off); onsite full-time, no teleworking
Pay: Use client-approved senior battery/systems engineer range for this location; final offers will consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidateโ€™s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for a Systems Battery Engineer III (Battery Engineer III) developing sophisticated electronics products in a world-class Integrated Product Team. You will be responsible for the design, development, analysis, qualification, test oversight, and production oversight of batteries required for programs in the Strategic Reentry Portfolio, working onsite full-time near the King of Prussia space facility on a flexible 9x80 schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Own the design, development, analysis, qualification, test oversight, and production oversight of batteries for Strategic Reentry Portfolio programs. Draft battery requirements, perform trade studies, and create detailed battery specifications. Perform troubleshooting and Closed Loop Failure Investigations on battery hardware and performance issues. Provide battery engineering support at battery suppliers, overseeing battery testing and production activities. Support rechargeable and non-rechargeable lithium chemistries, as well as reserve battery chemistries such as molten-salt thermal batteries, silver-zinc batteries, and reserve lithium batteries. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS โ€“ BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college/university, or equivalent experience/combined education. Experience with battery design, development, testing, analysis, qualification, and supplier production oversight. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Approximately 3+ years of relevant professional experience. While no clearance is needed to start, must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree (Masterโ€™s or PhD). Battery research and development experience. Experience with reserve battery chemistries such as molten-salt thermal, silver-zinc, and lithium. Experience with both non-rechargeable and rechargeable chemistries. Experience developing battery requirements and specifications and analyzing battery test data. Experience supporting and/or performing failure investigations. Prior experience as a battery Certified Product Engineer. Experience working with suppliers and U.S. government customers. Experience with multiphysics modeling and Python or MATLAB modeling and data analysis. Experience authoring technical papers. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative, team-based environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
