Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Retail Store Cashier will assist customers with checkout and payment transactions. He/She must ensure the customer has an efficient, pleasant checkout experience.


Other assigned duties can include, but are not limited to:

  • Acknowledge and assist all customers with a pleasant, helpful attitude
  • Offer suggestions for additional products that could compliment or go with what the customer is already interested in
  • Exceptional customer service always greeting and thanking them
  • Scan and bag purchases being careful to remove or deactivate security tags
  • Ring customers with layaway merchandise
  • Obtain and process customer payments
  • Sort hangers and tagging items, keep the front end area clean, neat & organized
  • Put security tags on clothing
  • Restock cash register materials (bags, pens, etc.)
  • Help in other departments as assigned
  • Demonstrate awareness and compliance with loss prevention and safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Great Communication Skills and Customer Service
  • Prior retail experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Ability to work evening shifts and full shifts every other weekend
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
