Position Summary:

The Cashier serves as one of the primary points of contact for customers and plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience at Ruggiero's Ace Hardware. This position is responsible for providing a friendly, efficient customer experience while accurately processing transactions, handling cash and electronic payments, and assisting customers with questions regarding products, services, and store promotions. Cashiers are expected to be helpful, approachable, and willing to assist customers. Accuracy, reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to an outstanding customer experience are essential for success in this role. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
  • Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale system
  • Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional checkout area
  • Answer customer questions and direct customers to appropriate products or departments
  • Assist with front-end stocking, merchandising, and recovery tasks as needed
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide basic customer assistance
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Support overall store operations and provide an excellent customer experience to every customer
