How much do demolition helper jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 30, 2026, the average hourly pay for demolition helper in the United States is $17.55, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.14 and $19.71 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common safety challenges faced by Demolition Helpers and how are they addressed on the job?

Demolition Helpers often encounter hazards such as falling debris, exposure to dust or hazardous materials, and operating heavy tools in confined spaces. To address these challenges, employers provide thorough safety training, ensure the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) like hard hats, gloves, and respirators, and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols. Team members regularly participate in safety briefings and work closely under the supervision of experienced foremen to identify and mitigate risks on-site. This collaborative approach helps maintain a safer work environment and reduces the likelihood of accidents.

What are demolition helpers?

Demolition helpers are workers who assist in tearing down buildings and other structures. They support skilled demolition workers by preparing job sites, handling tools and materials, cleaning debris, and ensuring that safety procedures are followed. Their responsibilities also include removing hazardous materials, loading waste into containers, and sometimes operating basic machinery under supervision. Demolition helpers work in physically demanding environments and must adhere to strict safety standards to prevent injuries. This role is essential for making way for new construction or renovations.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Jobs that can pay $2,000 a day typically include specialized roles such as high-level contractors, certain construction supervisors, or skilled trades like demolition helpers working on large projects with overtime or premium pay. These positions often require experience, certifications, and the ability to work long hours or in high-risk environments. Such high daily earnings are usually associated with freelance, contract, or project-based work in industries like construction or demolition.

What education do you need to be a demolition worker?

Demolition helpers typically do not need formal higher education but should have a high school diploma or equivalent. On-the-job training is common, and safety certifications such as OSHA training are often required to work safely with demolition tools and equipment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Demolition Helper, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Demolition Helper, you need physical strength, basic construction knowledge, and safety awareness, generally supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools such as jackhammers, power saws, and personal protective equipment is typically required, and OSHA safety certification is often preferred. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication help Demolition Helpers work efficiently on dynamic job sites. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining safety, meeting project deadlines, and supporting smooth demolition operations.

What is the difference between Demolition Helper vs Construction Laborer?

Understanding these differences helps job seekers find the right fit in the construction industry.

How much do you get paid in demolition?

Demolition helpers typically earn between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of the project. Entry-level positions may pay closer to the lower end, while experienced workers or those with specialized skills can earn higher wages. Overtime and union benefits can also affect overall compensation.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A demolition helper typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized skills or experience. High-paying jobs that can reach this level often involve skilled trades, sales, or entrepreneurship, but most require experience, certifications, or licensing rather than just a degree. Some roles in construction or sales may offer high earnings through overtime, commissions, or bonuses.

Job description

Welcome to Merit Restorations.

We specialize in mitigating and rebuilding residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storms, and other disasters. We partner with leading insurance carriers and handle everything from emergency cleanup to complete rebuilds, with a focus on safety, integrity, and advocacy. As entrepreneurs, we take full ownership of the work we do and the families we serve.

At Merit, our purpose is simple and non-negotiable: we work together as a team so we can change lives. Teamwork is the foundation of everything we doโ€”because teamwork creates impact, and impact changes lives. We exist to help people, and the only way we do that at the highest level is by moving as one team, aligned in mission, values, and execution.

Our mission: weโ€™re a team of people committed to delivering the best service and providing extraordinary experiences along the wayโ€” A team of people. Best service. Extraordinary experiences.

Every decision at Merit runs through the same value filters: servant leadership, innovation, gratitude, growth, impact, honor, and grit. Thatโ€™s how we think. Thatโ€™s how we operate. Thatโ€™s how we show up every day. To keep the team aligned, we hold tight to radical clarity and radical transparencyโ€”knowing what weโ€™re building, why it matters, how we win, and where we stand. We move with one purpose and one language across every office and every market, because the truth is simple: when we work together, both families winโ€”the families we serve and the families inside our company.

Everything we buildโ€”systems, training, markets, scoreboards, structureโ€”exists to reinforce one aim: move as ONE. When we move as one team with purpose, clarity, and grit, there is nothing we canโ€™t do.

Together. Forward. Always.
