What is Deluge Fire Protection?

Deluge fire protection refers to a type of fire sprinkler system that uses open nozzles and a deluge valve to rapidly deliver large volumes of water over a specific area. These systems are typically used in high-hazard environments where rapid fire spread is possible, such as chemical plants, power stations, or aircraft hangars. When activated, the deluge valve releases water through all open nozzles simultaneously, providing immediate and comprehensive suppression. This makes deluge systems effective for controlling fast-growing fires in areas with flammable liquids or hazardous materials.
