Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Event Leadership

  • Manage corporate meetings with 15 or fewer guestrooms.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
  • Develop and execute detailed event plans, timelines, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Oversee on-site execution to ensure all event components meet or exceed expectations.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering creative solutions and enhancements.
  • Handle VIP clients and sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of any concerns.

Revenue Generation & Financial Oversight

  • Maximize total revenue through strategic upselling of food & beverage, audiovisual, and event enhancements.
  • Review contracts, billing, and final invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support forecasting, pace reporting, and revenue strategy initiatives.

Operational Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Sales, Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, and Engineering teams to ensure flawless execution.
  • Lead internal event meetings (BEO, resume, operations) and communicate all details clearly.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and hotel policies.

Guest & Brand Experience

  • Deliver elevated, personalized service reflective of DoubleTree’s reputation for warm hospitality.
  • Ensure all events create memorable, high-quality guest experiences.
  • Proactively anticipate needs and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in event management or catering, preferably in a full-service property.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of hotel/event systems (e.g., Delphi, OnQ, or similar) or willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to navigate large event spaces, including ballrooms and meeting rooms.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-touch hospitality environment.
  • Combination of office-based planning and on-site event execution.
