Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Onsite - West Point, GA
Pay: $44.00 - $51.84/hour
Type: W2 Contract (Ongoing)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the critical link between the customer plant and the manufacturing facility. This role focuses on ensuring product quality, managing non-conformance issues, and maintaining strong communication across internal teams and external customers.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with both internal stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the customer plant and Delphi/manufacturing teams
  • Perform first-level analysis of non-conforming materials and support issue resolution
  • Verify suspect products and ensure proper use and maintenance of testing equipment
  • Coordinate and manage 24-hour containment activities and additional containment actions as needed
  • Expedite return of non-conforming materials back to the plant on the same day
  • Enter and maintain quality data in the Incident Reporting System (IRS)
  • Track and support customer return metrics (PPM rates) and quality performance
  • Provide technical support and system/process guidance
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships within the plant
  • Prepare and deliver weekly status/trip reports
  • Support special events, inspections, and quality-related initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 6-10+ years of relevant quality/manufacturing experience
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality processes and non-conformance management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with incident reporting systems (IRS) or similar tools
  • Knowledge of quality metrics (PPM, defect tracking, containment processes)
  • Familiarity with vendor/customer interface roles or resident engineer positions
