Job description

Riverpoint Medical is looking to hire a Buyer III. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to medical, dental, and veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The Buyer III is responsible for creating and maintaining component purchase orders and releases from suppliers to meet defined internal requirements working closely with vendors for new and existing product lines.


Duties and Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Review MRP generated requisitions and material exceptions then place POs accordingly.
  • Monitor ERP system to ensure components are received on time, including maintaining promise dates and reconfirming PO delivery dates.
  • Forecast raw material requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis by vendor.
  • Support PMO team by engaging in sourcing activities for new product introductions.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to inventory control, material flow, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze pricing, consumption, and inventory trends to reduce the probability of stockouts while considering optimal inventory levels and pricebreaks.
  • Maintain and communicate priorities to the receiving department.
  • Collaborate with logistical carriers to quote shipments or resolve delays.
  • Assist in coordinating intercompany transfers between manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to review customer backorders in relation to raw materials shortages.
  • Work interdepartmentally to resolve quality issues with vendors.
  • Manage and grow VMI program for consumables related to FMO and production.


Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, supply chain management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or related role.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, experience with Delmiaworks/IQMS preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with PowerBI strongly preferred.
