Job description

Shift: S3 (6:00 PM - 4:30 AM; Monday - Thursday)
Position Purpose: The Material Handler retrieves materials, supplies, and components from the warehouse and transports them to the production area. They are responsible for mixing base materials and colorants, as well as, recycling packaged materials. In addition, the Material Handler assures FIFO and material identification are maintained.
  • Material Handling:
  • Navigate files and locate documents within Delmiaworks (IQMS) ERP System
  • Understand and follow Work Order and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Understand Molding Work Instructions (MWI)
  • Read and understand Production Schedule
  • Verify Material is correct for each work order
  • Empty grinders and fill presses with material per MWI
  • Clean Dryers and Grinders
  • Make sure all material being staged is followed using First In- First Out (FIFO)
  • Utilize forklift as needed, for the physical transfer of resin locations
  • Communicate relevant info to other floor attendants
  • Safety and Cleanliness:
  • Adhere to safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, keep work areas neat and clean, remove unneeded materials from the floor.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • Restock all packaging needed for jobs
  • Other Duties:
  • Operate presses as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift

  • Previous experience in a Plastics Manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of IQMS
  • Knowledge of visual quality defects
