Job description

Litigation Paralegal โ€“ Insurance Defense

Atlanta, GA | Hybrid Flexibility

A respected and growing insurance defense law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling a diverse defense litigation practice. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team where paralegals play a meaningful role in case strategy and litigation management while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Unlike many defense firms, this position offers a highly manageable billable expectation of approximately 95 hours per month, allowing paralegals to focus on producing quality work rather than chasing excessive billable requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Manage litigation files from inception through trial
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Coordinate and manage document production, medical records, and case files
  • Schedule and assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert coordination
  • Maintain case calendars and monitor litigation deadlines
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness materials
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys, clients, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with legal research and case preparation as needed

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably within insurance defense or civil litigation
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process from filing through trial
  • Experience managing deadlines and handling multiple active cases simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and support staff
  • Proficiency with e-filing in Georgia state and federal courts
  • Experience with litigation management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Why Attorneys and Staff Enjoy Working Here

  • Manageable 95-hour monthly billable requirement
  • Supportive, team-oriented culture
  • Attorneys who value paralegal input and involvement
  • Hybrid work flexibility
  • Stable caseload without unreasonable workloads
  • Opportunities for long-term professional growth and development
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
