Position Summary

Spectrum CMI is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations at the Tracy Defense Distribution Depot. The Superintendent will manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with federal, state, and contract requirements.

This role requires strong experience in federal construction and the ability to operate effectively within secure government facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
  • Coordinate subcontractors, inspectors, and government representatives
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety standards
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and reporting
  • Maintain and track project schedules and ensure milestone completion
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Maintain daily reports, logs, and field documentation
  • Identify, document, and resolve field issues proactively
  • Coordinate and support government inspections and audits
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and project specifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
  • Experience with federal, DOD, USACE, or public works projects required
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Required Certifications

  • OSHA 30 (Required)
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (Required)

Preferred Certifications

  • EM 385-1-1 Certification
  • USACE CQM Certification
  • Additional safety and quality certifications are a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to pass background check and obtain access to federal/military installations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore, RMS, etc.) preferred
  • Reliable transportation

Work Environment

  • Work performed on active federal job sites within a secure military logistics facility
  • Projects consist of non-occupied structures only
  • Strict adherence to all safety and security protocols is required
