Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Technician - Uninterruptible Power Supply to serve as the subject matter expert for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related lowโ€‘voltage power infrastructure. This position will be fullโ€‘time and onsite across the greater urban areas of Tampa, Orlando, Broward, and Miami. The role supports advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, vendor oversight, and maintenance leadership to ensure power continuity and infrastructure reliability. This is a full-time contract role and an onsite position with heavy travel expectations. Company vehicle will be provided.

Shift: Monday โ€“ Friday | 7:00 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Act as the subject matter expert for UPS systems and facility power infrastructure

  • Lead complex diagnostics and corrective maintenance for UPS systems and related components

  • Monitor preventive maintenance programs to maximize system uptime

  • Manage maintenance contracts and ensure compliance with SLAs and reporting requirements

  • Monitor vendor performance, review invoices, and verify adherence to contractual obligations

  • Coordinate with vendors for upgrades, replacements, and warranty claims

  • Provide technical guidance and training for technicians and team members

  • Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and reports

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and organizational protocols

  • Respond to critical incidents and provide onโ€‘call support as required

  • Maintain preventive and corrective maintenance records

  • Evaluate and maintain budget records

What Youโ€™ll Need

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical or lowโ€‘voltage systems, with UPS specialization

  • Expert knowledge of UPS systems and power distribution technologies

  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Skilled in advanced diagnostic tools and remote troubleshooting software

  • Ability to analyze and perform costโ€‘benefit analysis for UPS replacement or maintenance

  • Strong understanding of lifecycle asset management principles

  • Ability to lead projects and mentor technical staff

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills

  • Familiarity with contract management and vendor compliance processes.

  • Skilled in data and record management

  • Valid Class E Driverโ€™s License

  • Onโ€‘call availability and willingness to travel overnight as needed

  • Ability to travel and stay overnight for up to one week

Preferred:

  • Advanced technical training in UPS systems or equivalent experience

  • OSHA 10โ€‘hour Safety Course (required within one year of hire)

Physical Demands
