The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician position at Lyten is a cross-functional, hands-on role where you will support day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities. You will work on routine to moderately complex assignments requiring a working knowledge of EHS practices, procedures, and compliance requirements, while following established guidelines and direction from EHS leadership.

You will regularly interact with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to support safe work practices, compliance efforts, and EHS program execution.

In the first year, you'll be expected to support the execution of an integrated safety program at Lyten, which includes assisting with safety committee coordination, supporting worker's compensation administration, providing basic safety guidance to employees, helping ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting with chemical waste handling and disposal. Additionally, you will support data collection and tracking efforts related to environmental programs, including emissions monitoring across Scope 1, 2, and 3.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of environmental health and safety policies and procedures in a startup environment
  • Assist in conductingjob hazard analyses (JHAs)and basicrisk assessmentsfor tasks and equipment
  • Supportincident reporting and investigation activities, including data collection and documentation
  • Monitor work areas and report unsafe conditions or behaviors; assist in ensuring corrective actions are completed
  • Assist in monitoring contractors and construction activities to promote safe work practices
  • Support coordination ofsite emergency response activities, drills, and training
  • Assist with organizing and documentingsafety committee meetings
  • Help ensure compliance withfederal, state, and local EHS regulationsthrough routine checks and documentation
  • Support interactions with regulatory agencies by preparing documentation and maintaining records
  • Assist in delivering and trackingEHS training programsfor employees
  • Promote awareness of health, safety, and environmental practices across the site
  • Support equipment and process safety reviews by gathering data and assisting with documentation
  • Assist with tracking and verifyingcorrective actionsfor identified hazards
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, logs, and documentation systems
  • Support preparation and submission of compliance reports (e.g.,HMBP, CERS)
  • Assist withhazardous material handling, storage, and waste disposal activities
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate observations to EHS leadership
  • Build effective working relationships across teams and support a culture of safety

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field and 3 yrs experience
    ORAssociate's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field and 4 yrs experience OR High School and 5 yrs experience
  • Basic knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices
  • Familiarity withOSHA, EPA, or similar regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting:
    • Safety inspections and audits
    • Incident reporting and documentation
    • EHS training coordination
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work independently on routine tasks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Compensations Range:

The expected base salary range for this position is between

$38.32 - $57.45

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
