Job description

Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in manufacturing construction chemicals and building materials-including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. We are currently seeking a Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our Operations team. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities, partnering with operations and executive leadership to strengthen our safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and execution of regional Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives aligned with corporate strategy and operational objectives.
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems across the region.
  • Lead or support regulatory inspections, compliance audits, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance through key performance indicators, trend analysis, and standardized reporting to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, R&D, Technical Service, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily operations, capital projects, and business initiatives.
  • Support facility expansions, acquisitions, and process improvements by proactively identifying and mitigating environmental, health, and safety risks.
  • Develop and mentor site EHS professionals while promoting employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with regulatory agencies and provide guidance on emerging regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a management role supporting chemical manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, ANSI, ASME, UL, and applicable state environmental and safety regulations.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, REM, or CET are strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and AS400 is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
