Position Description

Revolutional is seeking a Sr. Payroll Specialist responsible for the day-to-day execution, accuracy, and scalability of payroll operations. This role serves as the primary operational owner of labor and payroll processing, ensuring timely and compliant payroll delivery while continuously helping to improve processes to support organizational growth. The Senior Payroll Administrator partners closely with the Senior Payroll Manager and escalates complex issues, risks and decisions as required.

The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on payroll execution knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and a system-oriented, proactive mindset for helping to improve and scale up day-to-day payroll operations in a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end semi-monthly payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states, including timesheet processing, preparation of labor batches, and labor prorations.
  • Reconcile payroll data prior to payroll submission to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Process off-cycle payrolls as needed, including but not limited to terminations, resignations, and final PTO payout calculations.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and support payroll-related accounting activities.
  • Review and validate employee timesheets, labor charging, leave balances, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
  • Assist with 401(k), HSA, and FSA submissions.
  • Support onboarding for new hire timesheet training and ongoing employee guidance related to timekeeping procedures.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 review.
  • Serve as a payroll contact for payroll inquiries, issue resolution and escalations.
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to support offboarding, and payroll-related changes.
  • Support state filing and business change requirements
  • Ensure all payroll processes comply with DCAA regulations and company policies related to government contracting.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records, approvals and supporting documentation in accordance with DCAA standards.
  • Support internal and external DCAA and other audits by preparing documentation, and reports as requested.
  • Identify and escalate compliance risks, audit issues, or complex payroll matters to the Sr. Payroll Manager.
  • Recommend and assist with process improvements to support scalability, operational efficiency, and continued adherence to DCAA guidelines.
  • Manage payroll calendars, deadlines and payroll cutoff schedules.
  • Act as primary owner of payroll workflows and operational processes.
  • Support payroll integrations and transition activities related to future acquisitions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of deep hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Deltek CostPoint experience is required
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement improvements with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Multi-jurisdictional tax knowledge
  • Experience supporting payroll in a growing or evolving organization
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and best practices
  • System-oriented mindset with interest in process improvement
