Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the dealership by leading daily operations, developing employees, driving profitability, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role owns the performance of every department, ensuring operational excellence, accountability, and adherence to company standards. The General Manager serves as the leader of the store, creating a culture focused on teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees across all departments.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain top-performing team members.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and accountability meetings.
  • Foster a positive, customer-focused, and results-driven culture.
  • Ensure all employees understand and follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Sales & Customer Experience
  • Drive dealership performance by leading sales initiatives and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer feedback and resolve escalated concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Ensure every customer receives a consistent, high-quality experience from initial contact through delivery and follow-up.
  • Support sales, parts, service, and F&I teams in achieving monthly goals.
Operations & Financial Performance
  • Oversee all daily dealership operations, including sales, parts, service, inventory, and administrative functions.
  • Maintain accountability for store profitability, expense control, and departmental performance.
  • Monitor KPIs and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, receiving, transfers, and documentation within company systems.
  • Review and approve completed deals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Identify operational issues and implement solutions before escalating them.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional dealership environment.
Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Ensure company SOPs and operational processes are consistently followed.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing better workflows.
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer, lender, and company requirements.
  • Partner with corporate leadership on new initiatives, technology implementations, and process improvements.
  • Promote accountability by ensuring all departments meet established standards and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience, preferably in powersports, outdoor equipment, automotive, marine, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, including sales, parts, service, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze reports, KPIs, and financial metrics to make informed business decisions.
  • Proficient with dealership management systems (Lightspeed EVO preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
