Job description

Sunbird (www.sunbirddcim.com), an established leader in Data Center Infrastructure Management, is looking for an Product Support Engineer to help us maintain our award winning web-based solutions. We develop in a collaborative environment where our workday involves Ruby, Java , Angular, PostgreSQL, Rocky Linux, GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA, and SCRUM.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot field issues to reproduce and, when possible. identify the root cause
  • Work with the rest of the team as needed to create scripts or procedures to correct problems in deployed systems
  • Provide clear and timely communication to keep all relevant parties informed
  • Document information and transfer knowledge so that fewer issues are escalated from TS to engineering
  • Lead internal and customer-facing calls as needed

Requirement / Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject or equivalent experience
  • Good oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt, multi-task, and manage changing priorities
  • Self-motivated, ability to learn and apply new skills quickly

Desired knowledge and skills

A candidate with any of the following will be at an advantage:

  • Knowledge of the data center domain and DCIM tools
  • Working experience with Linux based environments (RHEL/Rocky preferred)
  • Java, ANSI SQL, and general programming skills
  • Experienced in using PostgreSQL, Jira, or GitHub
  • Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Nutanix, docker)
  • Scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Ruby, Python, Perl)
