Our Opportunity: Distribution Clerk (DC Clerk)

Status: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]

Hours: 12-hour shift - 6a-6p [or 6p-6a]

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour depending on experience

[Plus a $2.00 night shift differential if applicable]

Summary

Compiles documents on incoming and outgoing shipments to expedite removal or delivery of product from distribution centers and prepares Bill of Ladings for shipping charges by performing the following duties.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Receive email from broker and/or agents requesting appointment date and time.
  • Reply to broker and/or agents by email of the appointment scheduled on our calendar with arrival dates and times.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of ladings, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Operates computer with various computer programs to input retrieved data for Bills of Lading and other documents to prepare for pick-up of scheduled product.
  • Check in all inbound and outbound deliveries with the pick up numbers provided by the drivers and obtain information from drivers to complete the Trailer Inspection Form, print Bill of Ladings, and Pick Sheets to release the product as needed.
  • Communicates with Dock Coordinators to determine which dock door to send trucker to.
  • Answers phone calls, assists with directions to facility, and other customer service items as needed.
  • Responsible for directing all incoming phone calls to the right company representative depending on
  • nature of the call.
  • Greet and refer all visitors and customers in as friendly and efficient manner possible.
  • Coordinates regular inventory counts as required by customers and the company. Assists in customer requests and discrepancies. Have a good understanding of inventory control policy and procedures based on customers and company requirements.
  • Completing reports as needed per customer requirements
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety

What You Need to Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Regular use of computer, writing, and filing records

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations

Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods and walking on occasionally slippery floors. Primarily works in office setting, may spend time in the production/warehouse environment.

Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.

The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.

Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Regular standing and sitting for extended periods of time
