 Overview

The RN will plan and supervise the nursing care delivered to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients in the On Track Senior Behavioral Health Unit, in accordance with all standards governing our facility.

The RN maintains overall departmental operations aligned with the facility's mission and philosophy, participates in performance improvement activities, and supports an environment focused on high quality, patient centered care. This role also provides leadership to the nursing team, supports training of new staff and assists in clinical supervision.

This position reports to the Program Director.



All newly hired RNs will receive a $5000 sign on bonus

Join Jenkins County Medical Center as a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) on our night shift Behavioral Health team and become an important part of providing care to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients.



Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Ensure continual delivery of high quality nursing care
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, including medications and treatments
  • Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes
  • Support and guide nursing staff while maintaining a collaborative team environment
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and treatment needs
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families
  • Manage emergency situations while maintaining a calm, controlled environment
  • Work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift/move up to 50 pounds

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred (or within 3 months of employment)
  • PALS certification preferred (within 6 months of employment)
  • Minimum one (1) year RN experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Psychiatric or geriatric nursing experience preferred
