Job description

Join a Fence Installation Crew

Schuell Fence is hiring a Fencing Laborer in South Bend to support our field installation crews. This is a great opportunity for a dependable person who enjoys physical, outdoor work and wants to develop practical skills in the construction trades.

You will work directly alongside experienced crew members and learn how professional fence projects are prepared and completed. Previous fencing experience is not required for the right candidate.

Starting Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience

Daily Work

As part of an installation crew, you will help with the preparation and physical work required to complete fencing projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Bringing materials and tools to the work area
  • Helping prepare residential and commercial job sites
  • Digging post holes and assisting with post installation
  • Mixing and handling materials used during installation
  • Assisting with fence panels, gates, posts, and other components
  • Using basic hand and power tools under the direction of experienced installers
  • Keeping tools, equipment, and work areas organized
  • Following instructions from the crew leader and working safely around equipment

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Dependable and ready to work
  • Willing to learn a skilled trade
  • Comfortable performing physical work throughout the day
  • Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
  • In possession of a valid driver's license
  • Construction or outdoor labor experience is helpful, but not required
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
