Description
Essential Functions:
  1. Improves the health and well-being of the community the YMCA serves.
  2. Works to ensure member safety and enjoyment.
  3. Engages members using Engage More Technology. Encourages member interaction.
  4. Contributes to the Daxko Engagement % for the branch.
  5. Providing hands-on wellness services including orientations, fitness assessments, personal training, post-rehabilitation and adaptive wellness.
  6. Meets established goal for Fast Forward Fitness Appointments.
  7. Contributes to the branch member retention rate.
  8. Develops small-group interaction through planned and spontaneous programming.
  9. Uses the YMCA's 15 Service Basics, 3 Touch Model and Standardized Service Responses.
  10. Leads and develops member programs such as fitness challenges.
  11. Meets revenue goal if a personal trainer.
  12. Acts professionally. Maintains accurate weekly time and attendance records. Adheres to dress code, attendance, and punctuality standards.
  13. Ensures the cleanliness of facilities and equipment.
  14. Articulates the Y's mission in order to provide assistance to all and participates in the annual campaign.
  15. Completes annual trainings in a timely manner (Redwoods, CPR, First Aid, etc.)
  16. Ensures all First Coast YMCA standards and best practices are implemented and followed. Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
  17. Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
  18. Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:
  1. Experience designing and implementing wellness programs for individuals or groups required.
  2. Personal Training certification preferred from approved YMCA list; required within 90 days of employment.
  3. Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED
    1. Nationally recognized accredited personal training certification from approved YMCA list upon hire.
    2. YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principals certification within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
    3. Wellness 101 within 60 days of hire (available through Leadership University).
    4. Daxko training within 60 days (available through Leadership University).

Ability to:
  1. Communicate both orally and in writing.
  2. Lift up to 50 lbs.
