JOB SUMMARY:

Database Administrator

Database Administrator with Oracle Database Knowledge is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of DB2 and Oracle databases. This role involves overseeing the database infrastructure and ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Level 3 DBA provides technical expertise, leads database projects and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver robust and scalable database services.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oracle & DB2 Database Management:

· Plan, install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Server instances and databases.

· Monitor database performance, resource usage, and implement optimizations for better efficiency.

Oracle Database Management:

· Possess in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, installation, and administration.

· Manage Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery:

· Implement and support database high availability solutions, Oracle Data Guard, or similar technologies.

· Develop and test disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.

Database Security:

· Enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive data.

· Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Database Performance Tuning:

· Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, slow queries, resource contention issues, and Oracle databases.

· Optimize database configurations for optimal performance.

Database Backup and Recovery:

· Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for Oracle databases.

Database Project Management:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· Several years of proven experience as a Level 3 Oracle Database Administrator with advanced knowledge of Oracle databases.

· In-depth understanding of Server architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.

· Strong proficiency in Oracle database architecture, installation, configuration, and administration.

· Expertise in database high availability solutions for Oracle databases.

· Familiarity with database security, backup, and recovery best practices.

· Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and automation for routine tasks.

· Experience with database clustering and load-balancing technologies is advantageous.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
