Job Summary
The Database Administrator will manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases with the goal of optimizing performance to achieve business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases, in the cloud and on premises, to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Lead efforts to optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.
  • Implement and maintain advanced security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and perform regular testing to ensure data integrity.
  • Mentor Level I administrators, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expertise in database technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Two to seven (2 - 7) years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience with SQL Server replication, clustering, and other high-availability technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on database optimization.
  • Experience in mentoring junior administrators and leading database projects.
Preferred location El Paso TX or Las Cruces NNM, Remote considered as well.
