We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in SQL Server on Azure, particularly focused on load balancing and geography-based routing to multiple sites.
Job Description:
As a SQL Database Administrator (DBA) at Vergence, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our clients' database systems hosted on Azure. A core aspect of this role will be ensuring high availability through load balancing and implementing geography-based routing across multiple sites. This position requires in-depth knowledge of SQL Server, experience with Azure's cloud environment, and a strong understanding of distributed database architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases within an Azure environment.
  • Develop and manage solutions for load balancing, ensuring database traffic is efficiently distributed across multiple geographic sites.
  • Implement and optimize geography-based routing strategies to ensure minimal downtime and improved user experience.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place for databases.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance issues, including query optimization, indexing, and replication.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to design and maintain scalable, high-performing databases.
  • Manage database security, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company and client policies.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, patching, and upgrading of database systems.

Qualifications:
