Job description

Overview

This is a HYBRID position in Raleigh, NC ; Morristown, NJ ; Dallas , Texas and Phoenix, AZ.

This position leads support for software and hardware infrastructure related to database technologies at a high level of complexity. Supports database infrastructure for the Bank's sales, service, and corporate support applications through expertise and daily performance monitoring. Implements, upgrades, and tests technical systems. Resolves escalated technical issues reported by users or system alerts. Drives operational excellence and systems efficiency, providing continuous service both through daily activities and through on-call rotation for after hours support. Implements disaster recovery testing and may provide oversight to technical associates or projects.


Responsibilities
  • Configure, administer, maintain, and support Oracle GoldenGate 19c, 21c, and 23ai replication environments across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM Db2 LUW databases.
  • Manage Oracle GoldenGate Microservices Architecture, including Service Manager, Administration Server, Distribution Server, Receiver Server, and Performance Metrics Server.
  • Configure and support Integrated Extract, Integrated Replicat, Parallel Replicat, Data Pump, and Coordinated Replicat processes to ensure reliable and low-latency data replication.
  • Administer and maintain real-time heterogeneous replication solutions between Oracle and non-Oracle database platforms, ensuring data consistency and availability.
  • Support active-active, active-passive, bidirectional, and unidirectional replication topologies for high availability, disaster recovery, and data integration use cases.
  • Monitor replication health, performance, and throughput; proactively identify and resolve replication lag, process abends, trail file issues, checkpoint failures, and data synchronization discrepancies.
  • Perform GoldenGate patching, upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, and lifecycle management activities across development, test, UAT, and production environments.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle GoldenGate Veridata for data validation, reconciliation, consistency checks, and post-migration verification activities.
  • Ensure replication environments comply with enterprise security standards, including encryption, SSL/TLS, credential stores, auditing, and the protection of sensitive and regulated data, including PII.
  • Support data replication requirements involving highly regulated environments subject to PCI, SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, and other compliance standards.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle GoldenGate high-availability solutions using XAG (Oracle Grid Infrastructure Agent) and Oracle Clusterware.
  • Administer Oracle Grid Infrastructure environments, including Clusterware, ASM, SCAN listeners, Virtual IPs (VIPs), OCR, Voting Disks, and Grid resource management.
  • Support Oracle RAC environments, including cluster administration, failover validation, resource troubleshooting, and operational maintenance.
  • Coordinate and support GoldenGate integration with Oracle Data Guard, RAC, ASM, Exadata, and cloud-hosted database platforms.
  • Perform Oracle Database administration activities for Oracle 19c, 21c, and 23ai environments, including installation, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 and RHEL 9) environments, including operating system management, storage configuration, performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, implementation documentation, architecture diagrams, support runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis for replication and infrastructure incidents and implement corrective actions to improve platform stability and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with database, application, infrastructure, storage, network, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available replication services.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call support and production incident management activities while meeting defined service-level objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Database Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Database Engineering

Prefered if you have: 

  • Experience administering and supporting Qlik Replicate (formerly Attunity Replicate) for enterprise Change Data Capture (CDC) and real-time data integration.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Qlik Replicate across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Db2 LUW, Snowflake, Kafka, and cloud data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Qlik Enterprise Manager for monitoring, alerting, task management, and operational support.
  • Experience troubleshooting CDC latency, endpoint connectivity, DDL propagation, schema mapping, and data consistency issues within Qlik Replicate environments.
  • Strong understanding of CDC technologies, transaction log-based replication, supplemental logging, and low-latency data movement architectures.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise replication environments consisting of hundreds of databases and replication processes.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Exadata, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with automation technologies including Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Kafka, Confluent Platform, Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data, and event-driven data integration architectures.
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments containing mission-critical financial, healthcare, customer, and other regulated data workloads.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to effectively communicate production risks, outage impacts, mitigation plans, and status updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and executive-ready communications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highly reliable, secure, and compliant enterprise platforms.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team in fast-paced enterprise environments.
