Job description

TITLE: Human Resources Intern

REPORTS TO: SVP of HR

Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the HR Director, the Human Resources Intern provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources team with a variety of tasks including record keeping, recruitment, and benefits enrollment.
  2. Assist with recruiting and staffing (post positions, schedule interviews, check references, and prepare follow-up correspondence.)
  3. Perform miscellaneous office duties (answer phones, submit team supply orders, and reception relief etc.)
  4. Assist in performing benefits enrollment to include communicating benefit information to employees.
  5. Participates in department meetings and other meetings and seminars as appropriate.
  6. Compiles reports from HRIS database.
  7. Performs other duties assigned.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, guests and business associates.
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, family members, and staff of all levels.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Pursuing bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Psychology or a closely related field.
  2. Prior HRIS database experience is preferred.
  3. Profound ability to research, perform analysis, draw conclusions and make recommendations is required.
  4. Strong computer skills (Specifically on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe) is required.
  5. Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
