Job description

Dark Wolf is seeking a talented and passionate Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment. This position requires onsite support at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities:
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability.
  • Designing and implementing database schemas, monitors database health, and performs routine backups and recovery operations to safeguard mission-critical data.
  • Troubleshooting database-related issues, managing user access and permissions, and optimizing queries to enhance system performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry standards while staying current on updates, patches, and advancements in Oracle technologies.
  • Provide full lifecycle systems and software engineering support, including technical reviews, design, development, integration, certification, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Conduct technical, architectural, and process assessments, analyzing user requirements, interface needs, and evaluating impacts on systems and the enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance with, and contribute to the development/improvement of, engineering standards, policies, and configuration management procedures.
  • Support security evaluations (e.g., STIG process) for software and hardware throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop and review program documentation (e.g., requirements, plans, RFPs) and provide input for technical and program management reviews.
  • Provide direct engineering and acquisition support to program leadership (Chief Engineer, PM, FM), leveraging knowledge of acquisition reforms.
  • Coordinate and assist with test events, including developing test plans and reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in support of the DoD:
    • Experience working with Ansible playbooks and automation
    • Completing Oracle updates and patches, and supporting Oracle Database changes to include data, schema, triggers, and tables
    • Experience in supporting Oracle Database changes to include data, schema, triggers, and tables
    • Automation coding using Python
    • Experience supporting Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of DoD and AF acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing the DoD Systems Engineering "V" Model
  • Certifications:Security+ or Security+ CE
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
