Position: Plant Data Validator
Work Location: Florence, SC
Duration: Fulltime/Direct Hire
 
Job Description:
 
1. Material Master Creation & Governance (SAP)
•    Create and maintain Material Masters (MM01/MM02) for:
o    Finished Goods (FERT)
o    Semi-Finished Goods (HALB)
o    Raw Materials (ROH)
o    Spare Parts
o    Packaging Materials
•    Maintain all relevant SAP views:
o    Basic Data
o    MRP 1–4
o    Work Scheduling
o    Purchasing
o    Accounting
o    Sales (if applicable)
•    Define and validate:
o    MRP Type, Lot Size, Safety Stock
o    Procurement Type (In-house/External)
o    Production Storage Locations
o    Backflush indicators
o    Batch management (if applicable)
•    Ensure proper plant extension and cross-plant consistency.
•    Validate costing relevance and valuation class alignment.

2. Windchill Integration & Engineering Alignment
•    Review part creation in Windchill before SAP material creation.
•    Ensure proper mapping between:
o    Windchill Part Number
o    SAP Material Number
o    Revision levels
•    Validate Engineering BOM (EBOM) in Windchill prior to Manufacturing BOM creation.
•    Coordinate with Engineering for:
o    Part classification
o    Drawing approvals
o    Change notice release
•    Ensure revision control synchronization between Windchill and SAP.
•    Support digital thread alignment between PLM (Windchill) and ERP (SAP).

3. PDR (Product Data Release / Product Data Request) Process Ownership
•    Execute master data creation based on approved PDR workflow.
•    Validate completeness of PDR package:
o    Approved drawings
o    EBOM structure
o    Revision status
o    Engineering Change documentation
•    Ensure no material is created without proper approval workflow.
•    Maintain PDR tracking log and release documentation.
•    Ensure correct validity dates for:
o    BOM
o    Routing
o    Production Version
•    Participate in PDR review meetings with Engineering & Operations.

4. BOM & Routing Validation
•    Create and validate Manufacturing BOM (CS01/CS02):
o    Component accuracy
o    Quantity correctness
o    Alternative items
o    Validity periods
•    Create and validate Routings (CA01/CA02):
o    Work centers
o    Operation sequence
o    Standard times
o    Control keys
•    Ensure Production Version consistency between BOM & Routing.
•    Validate test window operations and production feasibility.
•    Support resolution of production order errors due to master data issues.

5. Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO)
•    Implement Engineering Change Orders in SAP.
•    Ensure correct change numbers and effectivity dates.
•    Validate obsolete material phase-out process.
•    Support revision rollouts and supersession management.
•    Maintain audit trail of changes.

6. Data Quality & Compliance
•    Perform periodic plant master data audits.
•    Identify discrepancies between Windchill and SAP.
•    Develop master data validation checklists.
•    Support internal and external compliance audits.
•    Maintain data governance documentation.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Partner with:
o    Product Engineering
o    Manufacturing
o    Production Planning
o    Supply Chain
o    Quality
o    IT / SAP Support
•    Act as plant-level SME for master data integrity.
•    Provide user training on master data best practices.

 
Qualification:
'•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
•    3+ years experience in:
o    SAP PP/MM Master Data
o    Manufacturing environment
o    Engineering data validation
