External Job DescriptionAbout the RoleAs a Data Quality officer, you will be a key enabler focused on maximizing the value and trustworthiness of our most critical asset: our data.You will act as a proactive partner, collaborating closely with business and technical teams. A critical part of your function will be to bring diverse perspectives—from the data creator to the data customer, and from the business profile to the technical expert—into insightful, overarching analysis.Your mission is to not only resolve issues but to nurture a proactive prevention mindset across the organization. You will translate business needs into formal data quality policies, rules, and governance standards. You'll perform deep-dive root cause analysis and then storyline the analytics to stakeholders, bringing transparency and awareness into our relevant data and acting as a data provocateur when necessary to drive excellence. By feeding discussions with compelling insights, you will nurture decisions toward robust data quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInsight Generation & Data Profiling:Perform deep-dive root cause analysis to understand the drivers of poor data quality, whether they are systemic, process-related, or human error.Document findings and quantify the business impact of data quality issues, effectively storylining the analysis to support prioritization and remediation efforts.Conduct thorough data profiling on critical datasets to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies.Stakeholder Collaboration & Standard Setting:Foster cross-functional collaboration by working closely with Data Stewards, business owners, and IT to define, document, and enforce clear data quality rules, standards, and metrics.Translate business rules into technical specifications that can be used to implement automated data quality checks in our systems.Act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring a shared understanding of data quality principles and their impact.Monitoring & Reporting:Develop and maintain data quality dashboards and reports to provide ongoing visibility into the health of our data assets.Monitor data quality KPIs over time and report findings to leadership, bringing transparency and awareness to the state of our data.Nurture decisions and drive change by consistently feeding discussions with data quality insights.Remediation & Continuous Improvement:Work with IT and Data Management teams to define requirements for data cleansing and correction activities.Support business teams in improving data creation and maintenance processes at the source to instill a proactive prevention mindset.Your profileTo excel in this role, you must demonstrate the following behavioral skills and mindset:Boundary Spanner: The ability to bring different perspectives (business & information, technical & non-technical) into one insightful, overarching analysis.Influencer & Storyteller: Exceptional skills in translating complex analytics into clear narratives, with the courage to be a data provocateur when challenging existing norms.Collaborator: A strong team player committed to fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve shared data goals.Mindset: You are open-minded, creative, and persistent, with a core focus on bringing transparency and awareness to our data foundation.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Quality Analyst, Data Governance Analyst, Data Steward, or in a similar role focused on data integrity and management.Essential: Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, profiling, and complex analysis is non-negotiable.Hands-on experience with data quality tools and data profiling techniques is a plus.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g.,Tableau) for creating dashboards and reports.A highly analytical and problem-solving mindset with meticulous attention to detail.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.Fluent in English.Preferred SkillsA solid understanding of data governance principles (Master Data Management, Data Lineage, Metadata Management).Experience with a scripting language like Python for data analysis is a plus.You are a team player and help fostering cross-functional collaborationWhat's in it for youYou will become part of a people-oriented company where your well-being really matters.
