Classification Program Manager
Position Overview:
Responsible for the development and administration of the Classification Program to ensure compliance with the Department of Energy requirements through the systematic and disciplined administration of applicable Guidance Documents, DOE Orders, implementation Bulletins, Security Plans, and implementing procedures.
Location:
On-site in Erwin, Tennessee.
Your Day to Day as a Classification Program Manager:
1. Responsible for development, oversight, and maintenance for satisfactory and successful performance of the NFS Classification Program.
2. Conduct evaluations, self-assessments, and classification decision reviews.
3. Develop and/or revise NFS classification procedures and related forms.
4. Conduct data transfer classification reviews.
5. Oversee Derivative Classifier (DC) Program and contractor Classification Officers including training and evaluations.
6. Develop and oversee annual DC and non-DC training for all personnel to include maintenance of associated documentation.
7. Develop and oversee bi-annual DC training for processing vendors.
8. Ensure requested classified information is submitted in accordance with Freedom of Information Act.
9. Compile statistics concerning the field element classification program.
10. Lead NNPI Control Officer.
11. Responsible for the appointment and training of assistant NNPI DCs as needed.
12. Review new and emergent classification guidance for cost and operational impacts.
13. Advise NFS management on noncompliance issues within the classified and sensitive unclassified information programs.
14. Oversee the development, tracking and closing of all Corrective Action Plans associated with the Classification Program.
15. Conduct reviews, audits, certifies classification guidance is identified and evaluate for contradiction.
16. Respond to formal classification challenges.
17. Delegate responsibilities in writing as deemed necessary.
18. Evaluate the impact of new or revised DOE guidance within the established timelines.
19. Execute additional classification and information protection related projects and work as assigned by the Security Department Manager or Security Compliance and Access Control Section Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree -- Science or technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisor/leadership experience in the field or related area is required.

Other Qualifications:
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of DOE requirements for the identification of classified and sensitive unclassified information as defined in DOE Orders, Manuals, Implementation Bulletins, etc.
  • Demonstrated competence in skills needed to analyze technical documents for sensitive information content.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance.
  • Complete DOE required training per DOE guidelines.

Salary Grade: 9.2
Pay: $99,000 - $157,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,000 and $157,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
