Summary
CHS is seeking a Human Resources Operations Intern to support the HR Shared Services team in providing timely, customer-focused HR support while gaining hands-on experience in HR operations. This role will assist with employee and manager inquiries, HR data and system maintenance, process documentation, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will work within established procedures and guidance, escalating questions or issues to the appropriate team members as needed.
The anticipated duration for this internship is September-December.
Responsibilities
  • Provide timely support for employee and manager inquiries received by the HRC, ensuring clear and courteous communication.
  • Assist with case management and administrative activities in ServiceNow, following established processes and service level expectations.
  • Support onboarding activities, including monitoring pre-employment cases, start dates and required screenings.
  • Communicate with candidates and hiring teams to gather information, support next steps and address onboarding delays or risks.
  • Assist with HR data maintenance, quality checks and reporting, while protecting confidential employee information.
  • Support HR systems documentation and updates, identifying and escalating data or system discrepancies.
  • Help document HR processes and identify opportunitiesto improve efficiency, standardization and the overall employee experience.
  • Provide project and administrative support for HR Operations initiatives, contributing ideas from an intern perspective.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership or a related field.

Additional Qualifications
  • Previous internship, customer service, administrative or HR experience preferred.
  • Coursework or exposure to HR operations, HRIS, analytics or process improvement is a plus.
  • Basic analytical skills with comfort using spreadsheets, data and systems such as Excel, ServiceNow or SuccessFactors.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while learning new technology and HR systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
