Location: Arvada, CO
Salary: $20.00 - 22.00 Per Hour (Non-Exempt)
Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Safety & HR Operations Intern to join our team. This role is a fantastic entry point for someone looking to understand the intersection of workplace safety, corporate compliance, and HR infrastructure. While your primary daily focus will be driving our digital filing transformation, supporting workplace safety, and assisting with international web projects, you will also cross-train in core HR functions to provide well-rounded support to the department.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance Team Collaboration
Safety Supervisor Partnership: Partner directly with the Safety Supervisor to support daily workplace safety tasks, maintain incident documentation, and assist with training logs or compliance initiatives.
• On-Site Safety Support: Assist in tracking, organizing, and auditing workplace safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all team members.
HR Operations & Recruiting Support
  • Recruiting & Cross-Training: Provide back-up or ad-hoc support to the recruitment team as needed (e.g., posting job ads, coordinating interview schedules) to cross-train and build a comprehensive understanding of talent acquisition.
  • Daily Operations: Assist with day-to-day office operations, clerical tasks, and updating corporate directories or charts.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare operations-related documents, compliance orientation packets, and verification paperwork.
  • Unemployment Claims Management: Assist with managing employee unemployment claims online, including organizing and maintaining secure credentials and system access for state portals.

Digital Transformation & Filing
Lead the Digitization Project: Scan, label, and upload physical employee and safety records into our electronic filing system, moving from physical archives to a streamlined, modern database.
• Data Integrity: Maintain exceptionally high standards of data integrity and confidentiality while handling sensitive compliance and personnel documents.
• Compliance Auditing: Organize and audit physical personnel and safety files to ensure alignment with labor and safety laws.
Project-Based Corporate Initiatives
Website Revamp & German Translation: Collaborate on a revamp of our company website, working closely with our partner to translate and adapt compliance, safety, or corporate web content from German to English.
• Compensation Market Research: Assist with market data research to evaluate external wage trends, helping corporate leadership analyze and adjust compensation structures company-wide.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software and scanning hardware.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to research, develop, and improve digital methods for fulfilling responsibilities.
• Must exhibit sharp attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work effectively with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and use hands to grip regularly (important for physical file auditing and safety walk-throughs).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Prolonged periods of sitting.
