Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and respond to ServiceNow tickets related to network incidents and service requests in accordance with OCIO-defined priorities and service levels
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of network issues across OSI Layers 1–3
  • Support enterprise network environments including routers, switches, and wireless access devices
  • Monitor network performance using government-provided tools
  • Coordinate with the Service Desk and OCIO staff for ticket updates, routing, and closure
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware components including routers, switches, and wireless devices
  • Support office moves, new office setups, and reconfigurations including cabling coordination and port activation
  • Configure switch ports, VLANs, and end-user network connections (“data monuments”)
  • Install, update, test, and validate Cisco IOS software on network devices
  • Configure and maintain remote management access to network devices
  • Support monitoring and troubleshooting of WAN and telecommunications circuits
  • Respond to incidents and service requests in alignment with OCIO-defined response and resolution targets
  • Support after-hours maintenance or emergency response activities as needed
  • Document all activities within ServiceNow including configuration changes and resolution steps
  • Maintain network documentation including port assignments, VLANs, and configuration records
  • Support reporting and documentation requirements for operational and project activities
  • Work closely with OCIO stakeholders, Service Desk personnel, and other technical teams
  • Coordinate activities for network changes, installations, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support to end users as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise network and infrastructure environments
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices (routers, switches, wireless)
  • Experience configuring VLANs, switch ports, and network connectivity
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN fundamentals
  • Experience supporting WAN environments and telecommunications circuits
  • Experience working within ServiceNow ticketing system
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active or must be able to obtain Public Trust

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cisco certification (e.g., CCNA) preferred
  • Experience in federal or enterprise IT environments
  • Experience supporting office moves and infrastructure changes
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $87,000.00 - $105,000.00.  The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
