Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is working with a client in Pittsburgh, PA that is seeking a dynamic IT Network Manager to lead a small team of network professionals in a high-performance, innovative-driven environment. This role blends leadership and hands-on technical expertise, supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mentoring while remaining deeply involved in technical operations and strategic initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Team Development: Guide and mentor a team of network and IT professionals; Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing training and development
* Network Operations & Troubleshooting: Manage daily network infrastructure tasks including configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems; Serve as the escalation point for complex issues to ensure uptime and performance
* Architecture & Design: Plan and implement scalable, secure LAN/WAN and cloud network solutions aligned with business needs
* Security & Compliance: Develop and enforce network security policies. Administer firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard data and systems
* Project Execution: Lead network-related IT projects from planning through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines
* Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and stakeholders to define requirements, manage SLAs, and communicate performance metrics
* Documentation & Continuity: Maintain detailed documentation for network architecture, configurations, and disaster recovery plans
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, or related field
* Equivalent practical experience may be considered
* Experience with cloud networking in AWS (VPC, Direct Connect) or Azure (VNet, ExpressRoute)
* Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise-grade networking hardware
* Familiarity with wireless networking standards and enterprise deployments
* Understanding of ITIL practices for incident, change, and problem management
* Proficiency with network monitoring and automation tools
* Strong grasp of network security including VPNs, IDS/IPS, access control, and threat mitigation
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure
* Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
* Proven leadership and delegation skills with a focus on team performance and growth
* Ability to balance operational support with project execution
Preferred Experience & Certifications:
* Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent
* 7+ years in technical networking roles, including 3+ years in leadership
* Experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
