Job description

Position Summary:
The IT Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day security, maintenance, and operation of the organization's network and related infrastructure assets. This includes installing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting network hardware, server-adjacent infrastructure, cloud/network connectivity, and communication links. This role is also responsible for the security remediations identified through vulnerability scans, security alerts, and infrastructure monitoring, with a primary focus on network hardware and related infrastructure.

  • IT Network & Infrastructure Operations: The IT Network Administrator assists with the design, deployment, and lifecycle support of network hardware and related infrastructure, including connectivity, switching, firewall, wireless, backup, and virtualization-adjacent systems. This position also oversees and maintains the day-to-day availability, capacity, continuity, and security of the GESMN network environment and related infrastructure..
  • IT Security: The IT Network Administrator plays a key operational role in the execution of the organization's IT security operations and alignment with the organization's business objectives.

Job Pay & Perks:
  • Pay range: $81,641-$99,784 yearly
  • This is a Flexible-Hybrid role: whose essential functions allow the employee to primarily work from a personal home office but also require the employee to work at a physical GESMN or partner facility as business needs require, sometimes with great urgency and little notice.

About you:
Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and cloud services, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure services, and Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft client operating systems, Microsoft 365, and standard productivity tools.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization or hyperconverged infrastructure technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Meraki/Cisco, Fortinet/FortiManager network hardware and management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, common network infrastructure components (e.g. firewalls, routers, switches, etc.) and the function of common IP-based protocols (e.g. Telnet, FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of current protocols and infrastructure standards, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, cloud networking/security, core switching/routing, SSL/IPSec VPN, storage concepts, and virtualization.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain highly detailed and accurate process and procedure documentation, as well as both physical and logical infrastructure topology diagrams
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting network and infrastructure hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, UPSs, and server/network connectivity.
  • Knowledge of configuring security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing concepts, and threat identification and defense.
  • High attention to detail.

Prior Experience & Education
  • Minimum 4 years' experience installing, configuring, or using network/infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting network environments connected to virtualization, storage, or hyperconverged infrastructure technologies.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting vulnerability remediation, network security reviews, or infrastructure security testing.
  • Virtualization, cloud networking, storage, or backup technology experience preferred.
  • Network+ certification or equivalent experience preferred; Security+ certification preferred; Meraki, Fortinet, Microsoft Azure, or related infrastructure certifications preferred.
