Job Summary:
Swagelok is a global organization and one of the largest employers of manufacturing talent in Northeast Ohio. The Supervisor, Commercial Data and Analytics is responsible for leading commercial analytics processes, data practices, and business intelligence capabilities that drive business value across the Commercial organization.
Responsibilities:
• Supervises and develops associates within the commercial data and analytics team by prioritizing work, coaching performance, mentoring analytical capability, and ensuring effective execution of team responsibilities.
• Leads the development, enhancement, and sustainment of commercial analytics processes, dashboards, models, and reporting solutions that support pricing, sales, product, and market-related decisions.
• Translates stakeholder requirements into scalable analytical solutions by combining business context, technical knowledge, and data-driven insight.
• Establishes and maintains strong data management practices, including data quality, documentation, metadata, standard work, and governance for key commercial data assets and reporting processes.
• Partners cross-functionally with Commercial, Information Technology, Product Management, Pricing, and other business teams to identify improvement opportunities, define business system requirements, and implement process or reporting changes.
• Acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to support change management, solution design, prioritization, testing, and adoption of commercial data and analytics capabilities.
• Oversees complex and ad hoc analyses, identifies trends and root causes, and recommends actions that improve decision-making, commercial performance, and process effectiveness.
• Develops and implements tools, metrics, and reporting frameworks that enable business leaders to evaluate performance, understand cause and effect, and monitor strategic initiatives.
• Governs incoming analytics and data requests, balances priorities against business needs, and allocates resources to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Leads meetings with stakeholders and management, clearly communicating analytical findings, process implications, recommendations, and next steps.
• Champions business intelligence best practices and continuous improvement while supporting the development of future commercial data and analytics capabilities.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for commercial analytics processes, tools, and data, providing guidance to internal teams and supporting key strategic projects.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, commercial data, pricing, process improvement, or related business analysis work.
• Prior experience leading projects, coordinating cross-functional work, or supervising associates.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen skills with the ability to interpret trends and translate analysis into business actions.
• Experience developing or supporting dashboards, reporting solutions, and data models using business intelligence and analytics tools.
• Experience with data management, documentation, process governance, and continuous improvement practices.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with associates, stakeholders, and management across functional areas.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, or similar technologies.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree or MBA in a related field.
• Experience supporting commercial, pricing, product management, or sales-related analytics.
• Experience working with enterprise business systems, data pipelines, or cross-functional process initiatives.
• Knowledge of pricing concepts, commercial metrics, and market or product performance analysis.
• Experience with multiple analytics, visualization, or programming tools.
