Job description

Data Analyst

The Data Analyst applies technical and analytical capabilities to support key business and security objectives. This role involves working with stakeholders to clarify requirements, developing and maintaining analytical models, and transforming data into actionable insights. You will leverage problem‑solving skills, working independently and collaboratively to contribute to projects that enhance organizational efficiency and support threat mitigation programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop data analytics and visualizations using proven, industry‑standard data science principles and techniques.
  • Create and edit visual content, including charts, graphs, and dashboards, to transform quantitative and qualitative data sets into compelling visuals.
  • Collaborate with project requestors, stakeholders, and project managers to refine project requests and clarify business needs and objectives.
  • Use data analytics to generate business insights, identify issues, and recommend ways to boost organizational efficiency.
  • Integrate, develop, and maintain analytic models, visualizations, and tools designed to deter, detect, and mitigate threats.
  • Support the sustainment of risk‑scoring tools and other data analysis implementations by identifying and resolving system errors and failures.
  • Work closely with subject‑matter experts to learn about specific products and processes.
  • Support the preparation of reports and briefs on analyses and dashboard functionality for various internal teams.
  • Capture, maintain, and accumulate statistics that show quantities and timelines for key processes, such as data transfers between domains, to support system integrity and performance monitoring.
  • Assist in supporting policy business operations, including policy analysis, review, and coordination.
  • Contribute to creating and revising technical documents, reports, and communications products, ensuring they integrate a common message.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a geospatial information systems tool (e.g., ArcView, ArcGIS, Remote View, ArcIMS, ERDAS Imagine, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, Photoshop, HTML, or FrameMaker).
  • Experience integrating, developing, and maintaining analytic models, visualizations, and tools.
  • Experience coding scripts using Java and Python.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Tableau, Redmine, and databases to manipulate and build data visualizations.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or Business, plus 6+ years of experience in data analysis or visualization; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating, developing, and maintaining analytic models, visualizations, and tools in a security or threat‑detection context.
  • Experience supporting threat, risk‑scoring, or other security‑focused analytics programs.
  • Experience with policy analysis or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with GEOINT analysis software.
Security Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefits program.
