Job description

*Securian Financial Group's internal position title is Compliance Sr Analyst.

Position Summary:

Securian Financial is seeking to add a team member to the Data Management Center of Excellence within Enterprise Data and Analytics (eDNA). eDNA's vision is to leverage data as an enterprise asset to enable customer-centricity and empower our businesses to drive strategic growth. This position will be responsible for data management programs and operations and maturing and scaling capabilities to achieve this vision. This position will collaborate with internal teams, privacy and security teams, technical data custodians, and business area data steward contacts. A successful candidate will have a bias for action, a collaborative nature, focus on risk management, passion for data, and possess a continuous improvement and agile mindset.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Drive implementation of Data Management capabilities in enterprise data and analytics projects incorporating the following functions: data management standards and best practices, metadata management and data catalog, data quality, master data management, and data readiness assessments for analytics and AI, etc.
  • Drive and manage adoption, operations, and maturity of data management capabilities and services, including but not limited to the following:
  • Enterprise data catalog solution and metadata management program including development of business glossaries, profiling, scanning, curating, classification, tagging, and governing data.
  • Enterprise data quality program, rules, and tools to monitor, measure, and report on the quality of data in order to improve data quality across the organization.
  • Master data management program and tools to master and deliver a customer and financial professional golden entity record.
  • Data strategy and readiness assessments for AI and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Maintenance of an enterprise inventory of information repositories (EDM-Enterprise Data Map).
  • Develop, implement, and drive awareness of data management principles, standards, best practices, and processes.
  • Gather metrics to demonstrate data management program effectiveness and enablement in the overall implementation of enterprise data strategies and roadmaps.
  • Network with business and technical data contacts to understand data pain points and challenges and develop recommendations and strategies for improvement. Collaborate with privacy, security, and risk teams to ensure data and analytics solutions and practices align with policies and standards.
  • Support leader in the development and ongoing maturity of the data management center of excellence, data management program functions, data governance activities, and other duties as assigned, including providing recommendations for improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience implementing data management and/or data governance functions in financial services, insurance, or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge and implementation experience around data management, data governance, metadata management, data quality, and master data management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, to partner with others and explain processes and results to people at all levels (from executive leadership to individual performers) technical and non-technical.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to bringing projects and issues to closure, driving for results and continuous progress.
  • Resilient and agile mindset with the ability to pivot and evolve in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance framework, industry standards, best practices, and related tools (i.e., Informatica data catalog and data quality, Reltio MDM, etc.).
  • Effective prioritization, including the ability to balance accuracy and timelines.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and project management skills to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial services and insurance industries.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (e.g., GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)
  • Knowledge of data impact to financial audit regulations like GAAP, IFRS, LDTI
  • Experience in AWS cloud services or equivalent and knowledge of cloud computing and tools.

#LI-Hybrid **This position will have a hybrid working arrangement, working in-office for a minimum of 3 days a week.**

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$59,400.00 - $109,200.00
