Job description

Join our Team as an SAP BASIC ARCHITECT!
The Role:
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated SAP Basis Architect to join our team. In this role, you'll support a customer-centric digital transformation aimed at enhancing the performance and reliability of our SAP landscape for associates, dealers, and end customers. You will take a practical, outcome-driven approach to SAP Enterprise Architecture, delivering signature-ready, actionable recommendations to business and IT leaders. As a Senior Basis Architect, you will lead cross-functional project teams through successful, on-time S/4HANA migrations and landscape optimizations by fostering strong communication, collaboration, proactive risk management, and end-to-end transparency.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key IT and business decision-makers to accelerate SAP cloud adoption (RISE with SAP/Public/Private) and drive enterprise digital strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership in SAP infrastructure and platforms, including HANA databases, SAP ECC, SAP Portal, CRM, PI and other common SAP landscape platforms.
  • Lead the design and execution of complex SAP architectures, migrations (OS/DB), deployments, and proof-of-concepts within hyperscaler ecosystems running on Azure.
  • Modernize SAP application portfolios through landscape rationalization, identifying optimal transformation paths such as S/4HANA conversion, Greenfield implementation, or Brownfield migration to improve agility and resilience.
  • Design, implement, and operate highly available, scalable SAP infrastructure and PaaS solutions, ensuring 24/7 uptime for mission-critical ERP applications.
  • Architect and guide SAP data platform solutions, leveraging HANA Tailored Data Center Integration (TDI), data tiering (Dynamic Tiering/Extension Nodes), and integration services like SAP Data Intelligence and Event Mesh.
  • Apply modern architectural approaches including SAP microservices, event-driven architecture via BTP, containerization (SAP Kyma/Gardener), and API-first design using SAP API Management.
  • Evaluate complex technical challenges, make sound architectural decisions regarding system sizing (SAPS), and execute effectively in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Deliver end-to-end solutions across SAP web (Portal), data modeling, security (GRC/IdM), and the underlying infrastructure layers.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the SAP Activate Methodology, Agile, Scrum, and Solution Manager (SolMan)/Cloud ALM for application lifecycle management.
  • Communicate complex technical SAP concepts clearly and effectively through strong presentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology with 6 or more years of relevant Information Technology industry experience, OR a Master's degree in one of these fields with 4 or more years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience specifically in SAP Basis Administration and Architecture, including lifecycle management of S/4HANA and ECC environments.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, or operating SAP solutions in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Current SAP Certified Technology Associate/Professional (e.g., SAP HANA 2.0, SAP S/4HANA Conversion, or Cloud Specialist certifications).
  • Experience with distributed SAP storage and HANA database platforms at scale.
  • Hands-on experience working with high-volume SAP landscapes (Terabytes to Petabytes) and performance tuning for global enterprises.
  • Experience with SAP integration platforms and distributed processing such as SAP PO/PI, SAP BTP Integration Suite, or Kafka for SAP data streaming.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, as they relate to SAP HANA deployment models.

Where and When You'll Work:
  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule-collaborate in person at our Columbus, IN office and work remotely (Mon-Wed onsite / Thurs-Fri remote)
