Job description

Amentum is seeking a Telemetry Planner/Controller for the Space Force Range Contract Typical Duties * Analyze and perform planning functions utilizing official Universal Documentation System (UDS) * Assist Controllers with the coordination of personnel actions and managing mission systems during operations in the Range Control Center (RCC) or Missile Flight Control Center (MFCC) * Manage critical, real-time Telemetry and/or Range Safety data required for the fulfillment of launch vehicle tracking requirements on the Western Range * Perform operational duties as a Telemetry Controller (TMC) or Radar Controller (RC), Acquisition Data Systems Controller (ADSC), and Real-Time Data Controller (RTDC) * Perform operational duties as a planner in accordance with department needs * Coordinate and provide direction to range systems in managing system data performance and integrating operations support * Assist Controllers in managing daily operations of the appropriate system during tests and non-test periods * Conduct pre-test briefings and post-test critiques * Evaluate system conditions during pre-launch / launch activities and provide recommendations to Controllers / Mission Control Specialist * Skillfully and proficiently execute the following duties: * Support all Pre-launch and Launch operations * Plan, schedule, and support day-to-day operations * Train and mentor Planner / Controllers * Plan, develop, and draft training procedures for respective positions * Troubleshoot and communicate circuit and Telemetry or Flight Operations (FO) system issues in real-time * Make real-time changes to circuit patching and Telemetry or FO system configurations * Evaluate recommended changes to operating procedures or methods to improve data quality and performance for future tests / operation * Assist with and or prepare reports, procedures, and operational documents * Communicate with the mission team and federal government entities to obtain background information to meet operational requirements, and ensure the maximum probability of meeting requirements * Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements * Associates degree in a technical and/or analytical field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience or related military experience * Two years of Western Range technical experience; knowledge of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) systems and launch operations preferred * Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) * Good oral and written communication skills * Ability to multitask and control activities during countdown for tests * Ability to make educated decisions under pressure * Must be detail oriented * The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Salary and Other Compensation * The starting hourly rate for this position is $50.40/hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
