Job description

Data Center Operations Engineer

Introduction: We are seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to support day-to-day operations in a large-scale server environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with PowerEdge servers, iDRAC, Linux, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support daily data center activities and proactively monitor the environment.
  • Perform routine data center walks and identify/alert on any issues.
  • Escort field engineers and coordinate onsite service activities.
  • Manage parts through LOIS system; training will be provided.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including serial numbers, rack elevations, and runbooks.
  • Coordinate customer maintenance activities involving power, cooling, and containment systems.
  • Perform BIOS lifecycle management, user administration, and server patching.
  • Triage issues with support teams and coordinate break/fix activities.
  • Work with the customer team to update server versions and configurations as required.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with PowerEdge Rack/Tower servers
  • Strong iDRAC experience
  • Experience with RHEL and Ubuntu Linux
  • Experience working in a large-scale data center/server environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with BIOS
