Data Center Operations Manager

Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the build-out and ongoing operation of a high-performance, enterprise-scale data center environment.

This role is designed for a working leader-someone who actively participates in day-to-day technical operations while leading a team of technicians and engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes. You will play a key role during the initial deployment phase, supporting infrastructure bring-up, commissioning, and operational readiness. As the data center transitions into steady-state operations, you will take ownership of site performance, team execution, and operational consistency.

This position combines technical depth with operational leadership, requiring a leader who is comfortable being on the floor solving problems while also setting priorities, coordinating work, and driving accountability across the team.

You will work closely with cross-functional infrastructure teams, vendors, and stakeholders, making clear and professional communication in English (written and verbal) essential for success in this role.

This role offers continuity across both deployment and operational phases and is part of a broader program focused on building a stable, high-performing infrastructure environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Operations Leadership

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as the primary escalation point while directly contributing to incident resolution and root cause analysis (RCA)

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead by example in maintaining uptime, operational discipline, and service delivery standards

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Work alongside technicians and engineers to ensure efficient execution of all on-site activities

Operational Ownership

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Own end-to-end site operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and efficiency across infrastructure systems

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Oversee vendor and colocation activities, remaining directly engaged in execution and issue resolution

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintain accountability for incident tracking, resolution, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives

Team Leadership & Development

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and engineers

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Set priorities, coordinate daily work, and ensure alignment with operational objectives

Capacity Planning & Process Improvement

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Drive capacity planning efforts to ensure scalability and operational efficiency

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Identify and implement process improvements based on operational insights

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and performance

Project Execution

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Lead and execute data center projects, including deployments, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Act as the on-site owner for project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and safety standards are met

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining strong execution focus

Financial & Asset Management

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support budgeting and cost control through oversight of asset utilization and procurement

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Balance operational requirements with cost efficiency

Required Skills

Required Experience

ย ย ย ย ย ย  10+ years of experience in data center operations or similar infrastructure environments

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Proven experience in hands-on technical roles within data centers

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, with a focus on hands-on operational leadership

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience supporting data center build-outs, deployments, or infrastructure upgrades (strongly preferred)

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience managing colocation environments and vendor relationships

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Demonstrated experience leading incident response and operational execution

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with capacity planning and performance optimization

ย ย ย ย ย ย  Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC, ISO, PCI) is a plus
