Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Hanwha Energy USA, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is part of the Hanwha Group—a FORTUNE Global 300 company and one of South Korea's most respected business enterprises. With over a decade of experience delivering high-quality, utility-scale energy projects across North America, Hanwha Energy USA has evolved into a comprehensive energy solutions provider. Our portfolio now spans utility-scale renewables, natural gas generation, retail electricity, and strategic partnerships that power America's growing data center industry.

Our expertise covers the entire energy value chain—from project development and engineering to construction, operations, and maintenance. By integrating advanced technologies, proven processes, and strong partnerships, we deliver reliable, customized solutions that meet the dynamic needs of local energy markets.

Hanwha Energy USA is actively advancing strategic initiatives in natural gas generation and data center development, including hyperscaler solutions on both sides of the meter. We are proud to serve as the parent company of:

  • Hanwha Renewables – specializing in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Chariot Energy – providing retail electricity services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers in deregulated markets

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Asset Management Analyst plays a critical supporting role in the operational, financial, and commercial oversight of utility‑scale solar PV and battery energy storage assets. Working closely with portfolio managers and cross‑functional teams, the Analyst is responsible for performance analysis, KPI reporting, financial planning support, and day‑to‑day coordination that ensures assets operate safely, efficiently, and in line with commercial expectations. This role is ideal for an early‑career professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for renewable energy who is eager to grow into a broader asset management or commercial operations role.

The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Portfolio Management team in resolving commercial, operational, and contractual issues, coordinating closely with O&M, project administration, engineering, finance, and other cross‑functional partners.
  • Assist with financial planning and analytics for operating assets, including monthly revenue and expense accruals, plant improvement tracking, and evaluation of business‑related financial impacts.
  • Analyze monthly project‑level P&L statements, variance drivers, and cash flow forecasts, delivering clear summaries and insights for portfolio managers.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by reviewing asset performance, standardizing fleet‑wide assumptions, and contributing to long‑term financial planning.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of operational and financial KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance asset performance and operational efficiency.
  • Calculate, validate, and report key performance metrics—including Availability, Performance Ratio, and energy yield—for internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare recurring reporting deliverables such as dashboards, lender reports, stakeholder updates, and ad‑hoc analyses, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Manage the reporting cycle by maintaining trackers, consolidating inputs, and ensuring timely communication of financial, operational, and contractual obligations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing reporting tools, standardizing processes, improving data quality, and supporting best‑practice workflow development across the asset management function.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of asset management experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across various workstreams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas.
  • An advanced user of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, dynamic arrays, PivotTables/Pivot Charts, data modeling, automated reporting, and VBA/macros for workflow automation. Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.
  • Exceptional organization and work ethic to deliver against critical deadlines.
  • Possesses a mindset of continuous improvement, always looking for opportunities to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Passionate about renewables and energy transition with a basic understanding of organized energy market fundamentals.

COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $95,000 salary
