Job description

PotomacWave is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team supporting a Federal client in Washington, DC. This position will support the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence. This role assists in the development and implementation of data analysis techniques and data visualizations to support complex analytic challenges, with a focus on improving data understanding and contributing to data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  • Process structured and unstructured datasets to support the development and operationalization of data models, analytic tools, and applications that inform decision-making.
  • Apply basic data collection, mining, and pattern recognition techniques to assist in developing actionable intelligence.
  • Work with analysts to understand data requirements and assist in creating data visualizations and reports.
  • Contribute to increasing data awareness and demonstrating the value of data analysis within the office.
  • Stay informed about technology standards, industry trends, and data analysis best practices.
  • Utilize technologies including Python, R, SQL, and Tableau to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Assist in the evaluation of training opportunities and provide basic recommendations.
  • Support the creation of clear and concise data visualizations for internal and external communication, aiding in the understanding of complex data.
  • Follow established steps to make data-driven decisions, contributing to improvements in readership, feedback, and throughput.
  • Contribute to the data science community by proposing data-driven quality projects and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document requirements, leverage existing capabilities, and deliver products to customers.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in the following areas of discipline: computer science, information science, statistics, economics, mathematics OR a professional certificate of training directly related to data analysis or data science.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis field.
  • The selection of an individual for this position may be conditioned upon their successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active DOE Q or Top-Secret clearance.

Salary range $85,000 - $115,000
